South of the Border's Bondi Junction @ 3:23 PM

Our shop is right in the middle of what is becoming the Notting Hill of Bondi Junction, the intersection of Ruthven and Oxford Streets, we are going to share with you our absolute favourites.  It is a hub of activity, especially on Saturdays, with lots of places to get yummy food, sneak in a little shopping and even pamper your dog.  Let's start with our next door neighbours, The Cook and Baker and Dogue.

I don't know where to start describing the beautiful food at The Cook and Baker.  The owners Cherie and Taz are just delightful and the food has to be tasted to be believed.  Prepare to wait on Saturdays as the queue leads out the door with people lining up for their mouthwatering roast pork sandwich.  Their signature item is the scrumptious jam doughnut, be warned it is completely addictive.

Your little best friend will be thanking you all day if you treat him to a visit to Dogue next door.  Border's store mascot Astro is a Dogue doggy, he spends his whole time when he's in Bondi store trying to get next door for some pampering, a yummy snack and to hang out with his mates.

The Nelson Hotel's interior has been made famous by TV shows such as Underbelly.  We love it's classic Aussie style along with their honest pub tucker.  Live music is a regular feature and the back courtyard, green wall and all is a cool place to meet for Friday drinks.  By the way, the green wall is by Green Life, just down the road, the pioneers of vertical landscapes, they are even responsible for bringing green walls to The Block!

Tara's favourite place to grab lunch is two doors up at the ridiculously healthy Suverin.  Prepared to be cleansed with their amazing foods, health tips and grab a coconut while you are there.  In Summer all the Bondi locals get their coconuts here by the tray load.

Across the road and a couple of doors down from The Nelson is The Baker from Jaffa.  This gorgeous little hole in the wall is an unexpected surprise.  Incredible sandwiches, great coffee and all of their artisan bread is baked on site.

The Border is a fan of beautiful bikes and Bondi Bikes have many beauties to tempt us with.

Centennial Park
I lived here for 20 years and still find new spots every time I visit.  Release your inner child and explore this vast and incredible wonderland.   Astro loves to lead me off the beaten track, his favourite walk is right around, along the fence, allow an hour.  A picnic is a must to enjoy your surroundings, grab one of our Mexican hand woven blankets and a takeaway lunch from any one of our favourites above.

xx The Border
