South of the Border | Last Minute Father's Day Gifts @ 11:05 AM

It's Father's Day on the weekend and we bet you haven't even got him anything yet, because we haven't either!  Men can be so hard to buy for but the best gift is always a thoughtful one.  We've put our heads together and come up with some fresh ideas to spoil all of the wonderful Dad's out there.

Sydney Seafood School

Not only is this cooking class a fun way to spend time with your dad, everyone wins - learn tricks you'll come back to for family celebrations and Christmas lunches for years to come.

While we are on the topic of the ocean, how about getting Dad out amongst it with a stand up paddle board lesson.  Good for the body and even better for the soul, this is a last minute gift that is too good to be true!  Try Cronulla or Bondi Stand Up Schools.

Customise a case of beer.  Now, you need to allow about 7 days for delivery, but I just had to share this with you, because I think it is the Border's all time most well received present I have ever given. What Dad wouldn't love a bottle of beer with his photo all over it?
Available from Beertopia.

Remember our boyfriend material post we did a while back??  Well it is time to revisit this clever idea, visit our previous post here for some great gifts that you can give to him, then steal it right back!

Pure cashmere grandpa cardie - not only does he look good, he feels good (to hug). Who can't resist a patched elbow on a man? Go on, spoil him, he deserves it

We don't like to cause arguments but our boyfriend shirt is that good he will have to fight you for it!  We know it's supposed to be about him but your secret is safe with us.

Pure cashmere boyfriend cardie - the design of these was taken from a men's cardie, so as boyfriend cardies go, these are the real deal. The burgundy colour is my husband and teenage boy's pick for the season - we've got one all wrapped up and ready to go for Sunday.  Chances are, he'll be sharing it with both of his boys and his wife.

Old school skateboard from Lodown - let him revel in being a P.O.T.A.T.O. (People Over Thirty Acting Twenty One) - ahhh, the gift of youth!

Now for some DIY ideas that won't blow the budget...

From our very own blogger, Loretta from The Urchin Collective, this fun, easy to do Father's Day gift that is rad!

Make him a mix tape (or iTunes compilation if he is in the right century). Introduce him to all of the music you love and put notes explaining why you love it OR a compilation of all of the music he made you listen to over the years in his car (but that you have actually, secretly, grown to love).

xx The Border.
